I have win xp sp2.

I have a mapped network drive mapped to: \\server\share\folder and it
is mapped as the L drive.

After some time it shows the drive as Disconnected. When this
happens, the program that needs to use it does not work because it
thinks it is not there.

Any ideas on ways to make it never go to disconected status?

thanks

Not much information to go on here.

If the computer is loosing contact with everything then it might be worth
looking into power settings to see if the network card is being shut down.
Check the pc's log files to see if a fault is turning up somewhere, like a
service shutting down and possibly restarting.

If only the shared folder is loosing contact then I'd suggest looking into
the server to see if it has an idle disconnect feature set. Possibly on the
shared folder or at the individual user level.
