Hi, when I type my pwd and hit enter on win logon screen shows me only the wallpaper on desktop and nothing more... I have to hit ctrl+alt+del -> logoff user and after it shows me that explorer.exe is not responding and I have to finalize it and logon again... after doing it is ok...
Is explorer.exe damaged?
Thanks

try launching explorer.exe as a new task via the task manager.
you might also want to ensure that the process is killed, before re launching it.

No, Explorer isn't the problem, it's probably one of your startup programs. To see if that's the case, run MSCONFIG from the Run box, choose Selective Startup, uncheck "Load Startup Items", click on the Services tab, put a check in 'Hide Microsoft Services", click Disable All, then click OK and restart when prompted. While you're restarting, unplug your machine's connection to the internet, whatever that is. With everything disabled, you're more open to malicious hardware than you otherwise would be.
If the problem has gone away, then go back to MSCONFIG and one-by-one enable the background applications. Note that some of them are members of a set. Look in the Services tab for one or more that belong to one app and enable them. Then restart and see if the behavior returns. If it does, you've probably found your problem. If it still isn't happening (the problem) repeat for all items in the Services tab, and then continues with the Startup tab.
