Let me say I am not real savvy on this stuff but manage to get stuff done
with you alls help so I hope this makes since.
I have a excel book that contains several pages these pages do some adding
and multiplying of numbers (you can see it at
excel sheet )
My excel sheet is for keeping track of points for RC car racing. Heats are
short races to qualify driver’s position for the main or feature race. Top
qualifier is a driver that makes the most laps in the shortest amount of time
in the heats.

I would like to take this to the next level and make it easier I don’t
really know if access is the thing to use or not (suggestions welcome) I do
post this to the net so I’m guessing reports would accomplish that. I need
to enter names, place finished in heats races, mains and top qualifier. The
end result is it would add numbers together to total a final number which is
used to award the winners.

I will try an clarify this more if needed

It sounds like you are new to Access.

It sounds like it's working for you in Excel. Unless you are using this
also an an opportunity / catalyst to Learn Access, you're probably better off
in Excel.

If the answer to the above question is "yes". then I'd say go for it.

Fred

I want to store names and things in a database, give the overall little

To recap my previous advice:

Access is probably not the ideal choice for your application. But if you
have a goal of learning Access (you didn't say whether or not this is the
case) , doing this on Access would be a good catalyst for learning Access.
