Hey Guys, here goes again.... (my last post crashed out)
Ok, ive made a movie instance (a little animation of the word "create"). Now I want to duplicate this and change the animation to the word "dream" and so on... etc etc.....
now, when i duplicate the movie instance and change the word "create" to "dream", it updates the original movie instance. How can I unlink these movies, so that changes I make to the duplicated instance are not reflected in the original file....?????

Hello,
Delete the "dream" movieclip and start again following these instructions.
1) If you turned the text(for the word "create") into a graphic or movieclip symbol, then go into the Library and duplicate that symbol. Edit that symbol and change your word to "dream".
2) Now go into the Library again and duplicate your animated movieclip. Go into editing mode and click on the first frame that starts using the word symbol. While the frame is still selected go on the stage and click once on the symbol itself. If you look at the Properties panel you should see a "Swap..." button. Click on this and a box will open that allows you to swap the "create" symbol with your new "dream" symbol. Click OK to close and your symbol should have updated.
3) Go to the next keyframe(not frame) and do the same thing. Continue along the timeline, stopping on every keyframe until you've swapped all instances of the "create" symbol.
Preview and enjoy! |
