after downloading and installing the windows sp3 sucessfully, newly
downloaded updates doesn't install. I got a message - "A problem on your
computer is preventing updates from being downloaded or installed."
what could be causing this problem. help be fully appreciated.

Updates are not installed successfully from Windows Update, from Microsoft
Update, or by using Automatic Updates after you perform a new Windows XP
installation or you repair a Windows XP installation
