I'm getting a blank Windows System box coming up every time I boot. I
checked startup and regedit and there's nothing there. Any idea what's
causing this and how to get rid of it.

Impossible to troubleshoot without more information.

It's exactly as I state. I get a Window opening on the desktop with
the title System. There is nothing in the window. I think something
is trying to run and can't for whatever reason. I guess I could try a
System Restore going back about 2 weeks.

A program in the C:\Windows\System folder doesn't load properly and
Windows stops its search at that folder. Run msconfig, click the
Startup tab and see if any file is listed in that folder. Maybe you can
see the error. Or, run regedit, press Ctrl/F and do a search for
C:\Windows\System and see what is loaded. Press F3 to continue the
search, but there might be quite a few hits on that search. Not all
will be in "Run" folders, and not all files that are run come from the
registry.

Post back if you find some possibilities.

I found the problem. Somehow a Windows System folder appeared under
Documents and Settings under my ID. I never realized that the
directories under my login ID acted as a startup folder. I had to
start is safe mode as an administrator to be able to delete the
folder. That fixed the problem. I figured it out by right-clicking
properties on the blank folder.
