If your dual-boot software is standard WinXP, you will no
doubt get better advice in a WinXP newsgroup. If I wanted
to remove any other OS from a WinXP PC I would first try
the DOS command
FDISK /MBR
which rewrites the Main Boot Record so as (I think) to
wipe any Win98 dual-boot software: (but WinXP does
not use FDISK.)

Interesting, there has been a sudden increase here in users wanting to ditch
Windows 98 and asking us how but should we ask them why. <evil grin>

You really need to ask in the Windows XP support groups. The following link
should open your default newsreader to the Windows XP General group.
LINK

Or, if you witch to continue with the Microsoft Support Communities
interface,
LINK

TinyURL for the above link is: LINK

Did you consider the answer you received the last time you asked this
question?
