I have a long document and have the Widow and Orphan checked in the dialog
box and it seems to make no difference. Why?

Dunno. Mine works, except that I do a lot of composition in tables and it
does not work there. But in normal text entry (no tables) it seems to work
fine. Maybe someone else can comment.
