Looking for recommendations/suggestions for brining in paragraphs of text, one word at a time, without having to break down paragraphs into an object for each word. Words to either fade in, or appear in place, followed by next, followed by next, until paragraph is complete.
Open to any tips or extensions or other effects that others have used and are fond of.
thanks! |

Hi Nigel, I have a number of extensions/collections (commercial) which could help you out, both Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0, see LINK
Word-by-word is possible with manual script change, but you can also speed up whole text by using dot-something values for 'delay between letters' like 0.3

A brief look at your website, and it looks like there are 1165 text effects across all of the packages. Could you self-promote a little more and make a specific suggestion of a few to look at?

Hi Nigel, Ha, yes usually I leave out the link and simply put name of collections and let people google the rest. But couldn't pass up an open invitation to 'self-promote' ;)
It depends a bit on what you are looking for. The 1000+ effects can be divided in main text effects and sub effects... best to check out the online "Demos" and then collapse the menu list(s) so you see the main-effects-only.
Most people choose Power Pack (PJ+S4), they contain a mix of letter-only and support-animation type text effects. They contain clean and simpler effects. +Astro (/Super Pack) is also popular since it contains more advanced animation effects but also a variety of letter-only effects.
In the end, it depends a bit on what 'style' you're looking for. Almost any effect will look pretty slick if you use it with high frame rates and short animation durations. And there's a lot to choose from so best to browse around a bit ...
