In CS3 I often draw a frame round a picture by setting up 4 guides to
form a rectangle and then. using 2 opposite corners, use the
rectangular marquee to define a rectangle that I can stroke.

It all works OK but while the marquee will snap to the second corner
of the rectangle when the cursor is near it, it does not snap to the
first. Just wondering if this is the normal behavior.

Not sure whether this will work but lets try it:
Start drawing your marquee and click on the ctrl key.
Keep the ctrl key in see if it helps.

I use it with the crop tool
and maybe this will work for you as well

Thanks for that suggestion. Unfortunately it did not work and neither
did any other combination of the three control keys.

Perhaps it is not possible

Thanks for the back feed.
Probably someone else have another suggestion.

Hello John

I assume that you have turned on the 'Snap to Guides' option which can be
found in the top menu bar in VIEW.

Yes I knew about that. What I did not realise was that the corner of
the marque had to be within the area defined by the presision cursor.
Then it works.
