I have a Compaq Prosignia 165 laptop. It was designed for Windows 98, so I assume it was built in 98 to 00. I finally found an online manual for it. It has a thing on the rear that is called an infrared module. It fails to explain what it's for. Can someone please tell me the purpose to this thing.
Thanks |

The infrared module allows the machine to communicate with infrared devices such as some models of PDA or mobile phones. It provides short range unwired interconnection. The module probably appears to the operating system as a serial communications port - check the COM ports in device manager as it is possible that one of them is actually the infrared module.. -- Jeff Richards MS MVP (Windows - Shell/User) <letterman@invalid.com> wrote in message news:k4laa4dssl12ablaq66rig6flqd0k7ppc4@4ax.com...
