Hi,
I want to send say 10 bits of data from one computer in continent A to
another computer in continent B,over the internet in the most
rudimentary way.How can I accomplish this ? what all information will
I need for this ? Is it only the IP address that is needed for
performing this ? Could you please suggest a good reading for
answering questions like these ...I am absolutely new to networking..

Chris.

Thank you for the information..
Now the problem is..
Can IP phones be used if I have an internet connection and no specific
IP telephone service provider ?
Meaning I plug an IP phone to a broad band connection at both ends and
initiate calls, just like we do for normal PSTN phones ? Assume we have
a static IP.

regards
Jean
