Hello,
I'm extremely new to flash and am trying to code a flash tool for my website. I can code the first page ok, that comes up when the website is loaded, but need to have a secondary screen that the user can bring up by clicking a button. They need to input information in that screen. I don't know how to make that secondary screen fly in, or how to code it up in flash.
Should it just be a new frame? A new screen ? ....
Basically what I am trying to do is what they do in a poker blinds timer at this site
LINK
when you click "betting structures" or "options" in the bottom corners, you get a secondary screen where you can input information. What is the best way to do that?
Thanks for the help Scott |

I created a quick mock-up of that effect LINK Instead of explaining what I did, just ask questions. I don't know what you may or may not already know about flash. |

Hello,
Looks like you're gonna get two solutions for the price of one. Sorry I didn't know that Shan-Dysigns had provided an example. I too have created an example that you can view here. You can download the FLA here and check out the different methods to accomplish what you want.
Hope it helps |

| His has prettier colors than mine, lol. I did mine fast just to show the code. his is coded slightly different, but both ways are possible and work basically the same way. |

Thanks for the help! It took me a little bit of time looking at the code to figure out what all was going on, but I think that I understand it now. As a complete beginner, my problem before was not understanding movie clips and how they could be used. The examples that you both provided were great. |
