Dearest Microsoft
There is no doubt that the work done in Redmond and various other places is
mind boggling.
I can not begin to imagine what the average IQ must be within the
corporation.
Having said that....
....I'm sorry but sometimes the obvious seems to be beyond you!
The majority of people that use Excel 2007 must be frustrated beyond belief
with the colour (or lack thereof) when selecting non contiguous cells.
Doesn't this bother anybody at Microsoft? Do none of you actually
use Excel or try to make presentations with it?
Do you all have special monitors so the colour actually shows up?
What is the deal with this? Why must we be forced to tilt our screens
and heads in order to be able to see highlighted cells?
In previous versions of Excel this was not a problem. I dare to say that
2003
was fabulous! The colour was transparent but still very obvious
from any angle and on any monitor.
I find it hard to believe that this has not been addressed in an update.
No wonder computer users get the "geek" stereotype. We are blowing
up our retinas trying to see what we are doing in Excel!!!
To whom may I send the bill for my very expensive corrective lenses??

Nice one!
By the time I logout for the day my eyes fell like that every day whether
I'm using Excel or not. I "hate" websites that use a 1pt font!
I already wear glasses and my optometrist says that sitting in front of a
computer all day (which I do) is bad for your eyes.

I completely agree. I work for a seedling nursery and twice a year we perform
field inventories. Trying to input row counts in Excel 2007 with the
highlighting color is sooo difficult. I spend half my time starting over
because it's too hard to see which cells I've selected. There should be a way
to select which color to use when highlighting.

Tried that.Works OK on my tower with a flat panel monitor but my laptop, no
such luck!
It's just ridiculous that it should even be any kind of an issue!

There have been a lot of complaints about this and I'm sure it's been
brought to MS's attention. Wether they do anything about it is a different
matter.

Interesting that your laptop doesn't work. Perhaps the color depth needs
to be increased.

So then my thought is: Why should I have to mess around with global settings
to
satisfy Excel when everything is set up nicely for all of my other
applications?
Excel 2003 is my spreadsheet of choice simply because I can see what
I am doing on my laptop.
All MS needs to do is change the colour. With all of the complaints
you would have thought they would have taken the 5 minutes to do it.
