I downloaded Service Pack 3, clicked to install it, the install ran and at the end it said " Expected version of the product was not found on your system". Any advice? -- mickey |

Assuming you're referring to WinXP SP3 and attempted to install it manually:
Are you running WinXP SP1 or WinXP SP2 currently?
You are not offered the option to install Windows XP Service Pack 3 when you use the Windows Update Web site or Automatic Updates: LINK
WinXP SP3 - Read all prerequisites for a successful installation LINK
Steps to take before you install WinXP SP3 LINK
Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3), until 14 Apr-09. Chat and e-mail support is available only in the United States and Canada.
